As time passes, wedding traditions change, but the meaning and message remain the same. When organizing a wedding, various Latvian wedding traditions and rituals are often included. The well-known stealing of the bride, “mičošana” and the bride’s bouquet do not describe the traditions alone, because customs and rituals have long occupied a large field in Latvian wedding traditions and include much more ancient wisdom than we might think. Our special offer is offering traditional and non-traditional wedding rituals, where a special scenario is developed for a young couple. Sometimes young couples choose the already widely known bridges and locking keys, making promises. We work with traditions inherited from ancestors – we choose rituals specially dedicated to the couple. Sometimes we also use the words of folk songs and symbols, then together a strong trinity is formed. Our ancestors have left a very strong heritage, which nowadays so many do not practice anymore, because most of the time they don’t know about it. It used to be believed – what first foundations you lay on your wedding day – that’s how you will live your married life! The same can be applied to other family celebrations, which very often include various traditional and non-traditional rituals. Any family holiday can become the basis for a strengthening traditions that will be followed for years to come from generation to generation.
